Castle Group Founder and Managing Director, Ritchie Perera, established the Perera Foundation in 2014 to support important initiatives in our communities.

For over 10 years, the Foundation has upheld its commitment to creating a better future and enhancing lives of people through strategic partnerships, event sponsorships, and charitable donations.

To date, the Perera Foundation has donated over $1.9 million to more than 200 not-for-profit and charitable groups.

Established by the Perera family in the early 2000s, and growing alongside Castle Group, the Foundation reflects our commitment to giving back through practical support, enduring partnerships and community-led impact.

From education and health to community wellbeing, sport and social connection, our focus is on supporting causes that create meaningful outcomes and lasting value. The Perera Foundation has supported more than 25 causes, and contributed over $1.9 million, since its inception.

Supporting women in property

The Perera Foundation proudly sponsors a three-year Western Sydney University scholarship to support women undertaking a Bachelor of Business (Property) and who are experiencing financially and personally challenging circumstances. Through this initiative, we are helping to address women’s under representation in the property and construction sector.

Fueling the Australian Poweroos at the 2023 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup

We proudly gave our support to the Australian Poweroos and made their dreams come true to compete at the 2023 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup. The Perera Foundation’s support meant Sydney could host this event and build a world-class team to compete for Australia.

Helping Blacktown Hospital since 2017

In December 2024, Castle Group funded and our staff volunteered to serve over a thousand healthcare workers at Blacktown Hospital’s Christmas barbecue as a way to thank the incredible staff saving lives every day. We also gave away hampers as prizes to the hospital wards with the best Christmas decorations.

Enhancing Emergency Cardiac Care at Blacktown Hospital | 2017

Castle Group donated a LUCAS Heart Pump to Blacktown Hospital in 2017. This device delivers automated chest compressions to patients during CPR, freeing up medical personnel to focus on other critical tasks. The device has drastically improved patient outcomes.

Keeping the doors of Blacktown women’s refuge open

Castle Group Perera Foundation has supported the Harman Foundation’s HER House since 2023. Located in Blacktown, HER House provides a safe haven for women and their children escaping family violence, offering critical resources and services to help them rebuild their lives.

Our support helps HER House cover operational costs, including rent, utilities, and essential support services, ensuring HER House can continue its life-changing work.

    Strengthening Community Bonds through Family Fun Days | 2021

    In 2021, a series of Community Family Fun Days were organised to bring people together for celebration and enjoyment. These events offered free food, activities, and entertainment, creating an inclusive environment that fostered a strong sense of community spirit. Attracting over 750 attendees, the Fun Days provided a joyful experience filled with lasting memories.

    Safer schools through Make Bullying History initiative | 2018

    In 2018, a sponsorship enabled the Make Bullying History Foundation to conduct 12 anti-bullying workshops across local high schools. These workshops aimed to break the cycle of bullying, mental health issues, and domestic violence that often manifest in later life. By raising awareness and empowering students with knowledge and social tools, the initiative inspired the creation of safer and more compassionate school environments.

    Promoting Inclusivity through the FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup Sponsorship | 2023

    In 2023, the Perera Foundation sponsored the FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup held at Sydney Olympic Park, enabling this landmark event to take place. Powerchair Football, is a momentous event comparable to the FIFA World Cup. This sponsorship played a crucial role in promoting inclusivity and celebrating the athleticism of power chair users.

    Love for Sri Lanka: A Star-Studded Fundraiser | 2022

    In 2022, a collaborative effort with UNICEF Australia and Eresha De Zoysa led to the organization of a star-studded fundraiser aimed at addressing the economic crisis in Sri Lanka. With over 2.3 MN children affected by severe food shortages, the event sought to raise awareness. Attended by 420 guests, the fundraiser successfully raised over $500,000 AUD.

    Fostering Community Engagement at Blacktown Streets Alive | 2024

    In 2024, the Perera Foundation played a key role in the annual Blacktown Streets Alive event by hosting a series of ‘Kids Activity Stalls.’ These stalls were designed to provide a safe and fun space for children, featuring activities like face painting, arts and crafts, a photo booth, and a prize station. The initiative successfully encouraged community bonding and participation.

    Enhancing Community Support in Willmot through Jesuit Social Services | 2018-21

    Between 2018 and 2021, a collaboration with Jesuit Social Services led to significant upgrades at the Willmot Community Hub, located in Blacktown. The suburb faced alarming rates of unemployment and domestic violence. The Perera Foundation’s support included crucial improvements to the Hub, such as enhanced physical safety overall. These efforts have strengthened the Hub’s role as a vital resource for community programs, positively impacting local residents.
